Jo is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer who values the ethos of working hard and fostering community, both commitments that he carries through his work.
He received his MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute, where his film Giver was pre-selected to represent AFI for consideration at EnergaCAMERIMAGE. Recently, he was one of four cinematographers selected to participate in Issa Rae's Color Creative: Find Your People Program.
His film En Pointe won Best Cinematography at the Burbank International Film Festival, now recognized as the Tony Gaudio, ASC Award for Cinematography. His new documentary, My Father was a Footballer, premiered at the DGA Theater during the Los Angeles Asian American Pacific Film Festival.
